Farmer's Market -- Science Center (LA)

09 Nov 2008

11.00am --Candlewood--
It was our second Sunday in US. We're so excited to do some explorations around LA. This time we're following another 3 colleagues who have been in Lake Forest for 3-6 months. The plan was to go to Farmers Market and Science Center in Los Angeles.
We set out around 11 am in the Hyundai Sonata as in the photo beside. My wife were able to take some photos along the i-5.

12.10pm
--Farmers Market--
We arrived at Farmers Market, Los Angeles after about 1 hour drive from Lake Forest. The market wasn't really look like what I expect a market would be. Back in Malaysia, normally a market is a dirty, dark and smelly place. But here everything was totally different. I felt more like being at a grocery store than in a market.

Beside the Farmers Market was the commercial lots called The Grove. There were many people walking around the area. Maybe Christmas was coming and peoples were going for last minute shopping.

We just went for a windows shopping around the area. What surprise me was the tall Christmas tree being "re-constructed" at the middle of the commercial lots. Few workers were plugging the tree branches to a tree trunk to make up the whole pine tree. I was amazed that the tree can still live after being cut and reconstructed.

2.30pm --Science Center--

After our lunch at the Farmers Market, we moved on to the Science Center which was about 30 min away. Entrance was free, but they do expect some donation to keep the place alive.
